Our Story
We started SCFFL in the Summer of 2021, after years of playing competitive football at the regional, provincial, national and international level – we had a strong desire to continue to contribute back to the sport that had provided us so much.
Having already been active members in the football community in the Greater Toronto Area – through coaching in youth leagues, board member participation in women’s football organizations – we noticed a glaring gap in the programs being offered in the Simcoe County region.
While there were many programs for tackle football available, there weren’t any options at the time for flag football without having to drive to neighbouring counties or cities ( +1h drive) and virtually zero organizations that offered programming catered to girls and young women.

Building SCFFL from the ground up was a feat of grit. We faced many of the obstacles and challenges one would face in bringing our community back together during a global pandemic; but we stand here now, incredibly proud of what we have created together.
We have come such a long way from our humble start, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to removing the geographical, financial, and social barriers that inhibit participation. As we continue to expand, we will strive to ensure that in this community, no child is ever left on the sidelines of their own potential.
Yours in Football,
Steph, Caressa and Avery
